Your information, in plain words.
Effective October 4, 2026. We only collect what we need to quote, schedule, do and bill your yard work. We never sell it.
What we collect
- When you ask for a quote or book a visit: your name, phone number, email (optional), the property address or city, the service you want, a preferred date and time, and your message.
- When you buy a care plan: your name, phone, email, service address and zip, plan details and notes. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout page and go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- When you use My ValleyTask (your customer account): your account details, the properties we service, estimates, invoices, payments, orders and messages you send us.
- When we do the work: job notes and before/after photos of the work area, so you and our crew can see what was done.
- Automatically: your IP address and basic browser details reach our server with every page, as with any website. We use them to keep the site running and to block spam.
How we use it
- To reply to you by phone, text or email, prepare estimates, schedule visits, do the work and send invoices and receipts.
- To run your account, take payments and keep the records the law requires for a business.
- To stop spam and abuse of our forms.
- To see which pages are useful, using counts that do not identify you (see Analytics below).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes card payments. Its privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
- StopForumSpam: when a form is sent, the sender's IP address and email are checked against its public list of known spammers. Nothing else from your message is sent. See stopforumspam.com/privacy.
- Our hosting and email providers store data for us under their own security terms; they may not use it for anything else.
- The law: we will share information if a court order or law requires it.
Our website, customer account, records and email run on servers we manage ourselves.
Cookies and analytics
- Our visitor statistics use Umami, hosted on our own server. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. It records page views and a few actions, like "booking sent", without your name or contact details.
- My ValleyTask and checkout use cookies and your browser's storage only to keep you signed in and remember your cart and language.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across other websites, so a browser "Do Not Track" signal does not change anything here: you are already not tracked.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and customer records while they help us serve you, and billing records as long as tax and business law requires (usually seven years). You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time (see Your choices).
Your choices
- See or change your details: sign in to My ValleyTask, or call or text us.
- Delete your information: ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep by law, and tell you what we kept and why.
- Stop messages: tell us by call, text or the contact form, and we will only contact you about work you have booked.
We will not treat you differently for using any of these choices.
Security
Our site and account use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Staff accounts are personal and protected, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
