A front-yard zone that stopped coming on
A front-yard zone had stopped coming on at all. Rather than guess at valves and heads, we traced the fault to a very old timer that had failed, replaced the controller, and brought the zone back.
A zone that has stopped coming on, a timer that has given up, or water running down the sidewalk every morning? We repair irrigation for homes across Dublin, from Schaefer Ranch in the western hills to the newer neighborhoods of eastern Dublin.

Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) supplies water to Dublin, and to the Dougherty Valley area of San Ramon. DSRSD's water comes from Zone 7 Water Agency, which draws on the State Water Project, local rain runoff stored in Del Valle Reservoir, and groundwater from the aquifer under the Livermore-Amador Valley.
DSRSD's District Code prohibits two kinds of water waste at all times: leaks from defective or broken equipment, and landscape irrigation that causes runoff. A broken head or a zone that floods the gutter is not just wasteful, it is against the district's rules.
Tighter limits apply only when DSRSD declares a water shortage stage. At Stage 1, leaks must be repaired within 24 hours of the district's notice and there is no watering within 48 hours after rain. At Stage 2, watering is limited to between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on no more than three non-consecutive days a week.

At all times, DSRSD's District Code prohibits leaks from broken equipment and irrigation that causes runoff. Watering-hour and watering-day limits (9 p.m. to 6 a.m., three non-consecutive days a week) apply only if DSRSD declares a Stage 2 shortage.
It can be either. In Dublin we have traced a dead front-yard zone to a very old timer that had failed. Replacing the controller brought it back. We test before we replace anything, so you are not paying for parts that were fine.
DSRSD customers are eligible for Zone 7's irrigation controller rebate, but Zone 7 is currently waitlisting new applications. The DSRSD rebates page has the current status.
